Lynx Hunting
in Western Canada
This hunt takes place in the Beautiful
Cariboo Mountains. This is a hound hunt not a trapping adventure. We
hunt Lynx in the same fashion as our Cougar hunts, with hounds and Mountain
Curs. Hunting area is accessed by snow machine and truck from our home
within the hunting area. We are hunting the heavily populated Lynx with
experienced Cat dogs .Due to their circling nature the Lynx can be harvested
both on the ground while being pushed by the hounds or treed. These are
normally action packed hunts with new tracks being found daily. The Lynx
hunt is much less labor intensive than a Cougar hunt on average and due
to the Lynx being densely populated makes for a fantastic 2 on 1 hunt.
HIGH SUCCESS rate can be expected.

Personal Comments
Our areas for Lynx are about as heavily populated with cats as you will find. If you enjoy hunting with dogs then you will love this hunt. Most Lynx races you can listen to the dogs work from start to finish normally in a circling nature. The circling style of the Lynx while being run by the dogs opens an opportunity to harvest the Lynx on the ground as he circles back. Shotgun and buck shot works well for this. From the houndsmans view we want to see the Lynx pressured till it trees. So either way, get ready for action. Due to the amount of opportunities on one of these hunts it makes for a fantastic 2 on 1 hunt where the two hunters can trade off with the video camera.
Lynx are an elusive awesome animal which most have not had the opportunity to harvest. Look around for people who have a Canadian
Lynx in their game room. You won’t find many! So get up to Canada while the Lynx cycle is at a high
for a hunt you will truly enjoy. Then you can take your friends to your game room to show them thi
s beautiful, majestic creature you brought back from British Columbia. The LYNX!
